Let’s All Kickstart Primal Supply’s New Butcher Shop

This woman-owned business needs your help to bring sustainable meat to South Philly — and it's offering some juicy rewards.

Back in December, we wrote about how badass butcher Heather Thomason of Primal Supply Meats is opening her first brick-and-mortar butcher shop on East Passyunk Avenue.

She and her team have been supplying pasture-raised meats to eaters through a Butcher’s Club subscription program and wholesaling to restaurants like Vetri Cucina, Aldine, and Tired Hands Fermentaria since 2016.

Buildout for the new shop at Passyunk and Cross has already begun, with an opening set for this spring. Now, Thomason is raising funds for the shop’s meat locker and refrigerated cases with a Kickstarter campaign that launched this morning.

And the rewards she’s offering — in addition to increased access to fresh, sustainably-raised meats in the city — are pretty awesome.

Support the campaign and you can score a Butcher’s Club package (which includes a bounty of steaks, chops, sausage, and a whole chicken), tickets to butchery classes, and seats at Primal Supply’s upcoming collaborative pop-up dinners with chefs like Chad Williams of Friday Saturday Sunday and George Sabatino of Rooster Soup Co., plus fun swag like limited-edition Primal Supply T-shirts and beanies.
