Mother’s Day is May 12th, meaning you’ve got less than two weeks to find the perfect present for your No.1 gal. What better way to repay her for all her hard work than with gifts that are actually good for her overall well-being? This year, forget the boring card and wilted flowers and treat Mom to something thoughtful, soothing, and healthy. From spa packages to free yoga, we’ve rounded up 12 wellness-inspired gifts and activities that’ll let your mom feel like the superhero she is.

Gifts

A day at the spa. Le Reve Rittenhouse Day Spa is offering four special Mother’s Day packages that are sure to pamper and relax Mommy dearest. The “Organic Rejuvenation #1” begins with a 75-minute Swedish massage, continues with a 60-minute M.A.D facial, and ends with a 30-minute manicure and vegan makeup application. For a slight upgrade, go with the “Organic Rejuvenation #2,” which extends the nail-care session to include a pedicure. The spa also offers a three-hour massage, facial, and skin scrub combo, as well as a 60-minute facial package. All specials include wine or champagne, chocolate, and a special Mother’s Day gift. Prices range from $120 to $370.

A homemade spring wreath. Want to help your mom spruce up her home for the season? On May 9th, create a fragrant wreath made of greenery and lavender with Alice’s Table at Avenue Kitchen in Glen Mills. Your $75 ticket includes the two-hour guided wreath-making class, a mimosa, and biscuits and doughnuts from Avenue Kitchen. Go solo if you want to surprise your mom with the gift or bring her to share a unique experience. If you can’t make the event, Alice’s Table is hosting several other floral workshops in the Philadelphia area over the course of Mother’s Day weekend.

A bouquet of vibrant flowers. For blooms that are sure to brighten up Mom’s day (and won’t die the day after), buy an arrangement from East Falls favorite Vault and Vine. With arrangements ranging in size from petite ($59) to extra large ($169), Vault and Vine also gives you several color options (bright, mix, monochromatic, and soft) and style choices (garden, wild, lush) so the bouquet perfectly matches your mom’s personality. The shop is also offering specialty Mother’s Day cards, candles, and chocolate. Order here.

Hand-crafted goodies. Curated by the Craftery, the Mother’s Day Edition Makers Box includes four items made by local female entrepreneurs: a nine-ounce soy candle from the Rockaway Candle Co., hammered gold-coin earrings from Marnie Lewis Jewelry, a five-by-seven-inch floral print by artist Annie Quigley, and an illustrated card by Alisa Wismer Design. You can purchase the gift box, which will arrive wrapped, for $67 here.

Scent-sational favorites. So your mother can enjoy spa treatments in her own home, gift her some sweet-smelling skincare products. Philly-based soap makers Duross & Langel carry a wide range of bath and body items, including soaps, body washes, moisturizers, bath bombs, deodorants, and essential oils. You can create your own skincare gift box, tailored to your mom’s specific skin needs. If you’re looking for something already put together, snag one of Lush Cosmetics’ bath and shower gift sets. These already-wrapped boxes feature vegan bath bombs, scrubs, and lotions, and range from $14.95 to $69.95 depending on the size. Browse the selection here or stop in the store on 15th and Walnut streets.

Not exactly sure? That’s totally fine. Sometimes we don’t know what we want to give someone until we happen to see it gazing at us from an outdoor vendor booth at the Art Star Craft Bazaar. Now in its 16th year, the spring fair showcases local vendors’ homemade arts and crafts, like jewelry, candles, clothing, purses, pottery, and home décor. The bazaar runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing on both Saturday and Sunday of Mother’s Day weekend.

Activities

Run, then wine down. On May 11th and 12th, Penns Woods Winery is hosting a Mother’s Day edition of Run the Vineyards. Supporting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the event includes a 5K through the vineyards, a post-run party (with a complimentary glass of wine), health and fitness vendors like Clean Juice and Athleta, live music, food trucks, and a souvenir wine glass. You can register for $42 here.

Sip tea at a spa. At 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on May 12th, Sky Blue Day Studio is hosting their third annual Mother’s Day Tea Party. For $45 per person, you and your momma will be treated to brunch (shrimp and grits, veggies, pasta, and salad), one complimentary mimosa, and customized herbal teas, as well as seated massages, aromatherapy, hand masks, mini manicures, and hot towel treatments. Bonus: There will be a cash prize for best hat. To reserve your spots, register here.

Practice yoga in a greenhouse. A great way to spend quality time with your mom is by finding your zen together in a serene setting. On Mother’s Day, flow through a 90-minute all-levels yoga practice in the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center’s heated greenhouse. Class is free, but registration is required.

Indulge in wine and chocolate…because wellness means enjoying in moderation. On both Saturday and Sunday, Pinot Boutique Wine Bar will be hosting a special Mother’s Day wine and chocolate tasting. Your sweet afternoon includes five wines and four gourmet chocolates. Tickets cost $30 per person, and you can select your time slot here.

Engage in some friendly competition. If you’re looking to celebrate Mom in a nontraditional way, throw some axes with her on Mother’s Day at Urban Axes. Twenty-five dollars gets you an hour of throwing and a mimosa, but Urban Axes is BYO so the more bubbles, the more fun (just be careful!). All attendees must be at least 21 years old and be wearing closed-toe shoes. Buy your tickets here.

Treat her to a gift of her choice. From 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. on May 11th, Flower and Bone Supply is hosting a pop-up market at MOYO. You’ll browse vendor tables selling fair-trade clothing, handbags, flowers, and jewelry. There will be prosecco, Baba’s Brew kombucha, and light snacks available. The event is free to attend, but registration is encouraged.
