It is no secret, on this blog and in my real life, that I am obsessed with fall. I get the way about fall that some people do about summer: giddy, stir-crazy, kinda itchy to get outside.

If you’re like me (hello, friend!), consider what follows your go-to resource for every fall activity worth doing in our area. I’m talking camping, hiking, apple and pumpkin picking, and more. And if you’re not a fall-lover yet, allow me to convert you.

See you on the trails.

WHERE TO CAMP

We asked local camping pros where they like to camp in our area. Here, their top five picks for a weekend away from it all.

WHERE TO PICK YOUR OWN APPLES AND PUMPKINS

I went apple picking for the first time since I was a kid last fall, and I had an absolute blast. How I managed to use up nine pounds of fresh-picked apples, however, is another story.

WHERE TO HIKE

Yes, it’s officially time to break in those hiking boots. Here’s where to take a nice, long stroll in nature this fall.

WHERE TO GO TRAIL RUNNING

If you want to peep the changing leaves while getting a nice workout, check out these wooded running spots we love.

WHERE TO FIND SECRET TRAILS

Yes, secret. The Natural Lands Trust just launched a new app that shows you trails—open and available to the public—on preserved land throughout our area that you probably didn’t even know existed. Seriously!

WHAT TO PACK FOR A FALL PICNIC

Nope, spring’s not the only time you can pack a lunch and eat on a blanket. Here are 10 recipes we suggest for doing just that.
