And the Best Nursing Home in Philly Is …

Here’s some good news for grandma and grandpa: In an all-new nursing-homes ranking from U.S. News and World Report, 92 facilities in our region earned five-star ratings.

To create its list, which includes rankings for more than 15,000 nursing homes across the country, U.S. News examined data collected by Nursing Home Compare, a website run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. U.S. News then organized that information into a searchable database. A facility’s overall star rating (between one and five) is determined from scores in the following categories: health inspections, nurse staffing and quality of care. In all, 3,036 nursing homes earned five stars.

Here in Philly, 92 of our region’s 295 nursing homes received top ratings. Check out the full list here.
