What better way to celebrate your four-legged best friend than by raising a glass together? (Well, you raise yours, they lap theirs.) There are tons of outdoor restaurants and bars around Philly where you can bring your furry BFF, including some that have special dog menus!
But before we get started, let’s make sure we’re not that dog owner, shall we? “Bringing your dog to a cafe without following the rules can be annoying to other patrons at best and dangerous for your dog at worst,” contributor Annemarie Dooling reminds us. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, pack up the treats (and poop bags) for some adventures out on the town with your pup.
From sunny beer gardens with room to roam to sidewalk cafes with water bowls at the ready, here’s where you can sip, savor, and let your dog bask in the attention they so effortlessly command.

Fetch Park
When Bark Social abruptly closed in Manayunk, it left a dog-park-sized hole in our hearts. But tails are once again wagging there, as the Atlanta-based dog-park bar expanded to Philly in its place. Dogs can roam free in a fully supervised (by “Woof Wardens”) off-leash park with craft cocktails, Southern-inspired bites, and weekly events like trivia, live music, and bingo nights. Here’s how it works: You pay for your visit by the pup — by the day ($15), month ($40), or year ($360) — and all dogs must be spayed or neutered with up-to-date vaccines. Bonus: Fetch Park also has a dog-wash station! 3720 Main Street.

Craft Hall
Inside, Craft Hall is a great place to watch a game or enjoy a family outing (hello, pirate ship playground). But outside, it’s all about the doggos. Their Unleashed: Bark & Beer dedicated doggy play area offers 2,000 square feet to run around while you enjoy your drinks. They’ve also got outdoor dining area, called the Puppy Porch, right next to the restaurant. Keep an eye out in February when they host their annual Puppy Bowl event, transforming part of their indoor space into a doggy-sized gridiron for maximum cuteness. 901 North Delaware Avenue.
Sunset Social
Located on the 1.2-acre Cira Green rooftop park, Sunset Social offers immaculate views and fun events like outdoor movies, Quizzo, and Thursday “Paws and Pints” yappy hours from 3 to 6 p.m. with $5 beers, $2 hot dogs, and free pup cups. Sunset Social even has its own little fenced-in dog park in the middle of the action! (Note: Dogs can be off-leash inside the dog park, but must be leashed everywhere else at Sunset Social.) 129 South 30th Street.

Parc
The hotspot for the chicest of Philly dogs, Parc’s sidewalk cafe is the spot to sniff and be sniffed. With complimentary water bowls at the ready, you’re all set to soak in the Parisian vibes (and sneak your companion some steak frites under the table). 227 South 18th Street.
Urban Farmer
Urban Farmer at the Logan Hotel is making sure pups can feast in style with its drool-worthy Puppy Menu. Available on the patio, in the cocktail lounge, or via in-room service, the menu from executive chef Sonny Ingui features includes “Pupetizers,” “Big Bark Bites,” and a “Doggy Dessert,” all served in custom YETI bowls. Think homemade dog biscuits, grilled chicken, beef tenderloin, and a signature Puppy Patty. For dessert? A strawberry-banana “ice cream” made with frozen Greek yogurt and topped with a dog biscuit. 1850 Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Walnut Garden
This beer garden is very family-friendly, and that includes your four-legged family members. While your kids play on the Jeep-shaped playground, your dogs can lap from a water bowl and hope you drop a chicken tender for them to gobble up. Note that this spot is seasonal, so be sure to get your visits in during the dog days of summer (and spring, and fall). 1706-10 Walnut Street.
Square 1682
The Hotel Palomar is known for being especially dog-friendly, so it was only a matter of time until its on-site restaurant got in on the action. Square 1682’s Pupadelphia Menu is available for sidewalk dining (plus room service if you’re staying over). Executive chef Patrick Czerniak crafted the menu to appeal to dogs’ discerning palates, with dishes such as the “Chewsteak” (shaved ribeye, Cooper American cheese, and pumpkin-seed oat crumble), “South Paw Salmon,” and the “Rittenhowl Burger.” For breakfast, dogs can start their day off right with the “Pawfait Power Bowl” made with scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt, banana, and berries. 121 South 17th Street.

Evil Genius
The brewery with the whimsical names (“Purple Monkey Dishwasher,” anyone?) also has a delightful seasonal beer garden that welcomes kids and dogs. You may even run into their resident pup, Dougal, who has his own birthday festival (and special-edition beer) each June. Evil Genius also hosts dog meetups, including their weekly Friday yappy hours, where dogs can go off-leash in the beer garden. 1727 North Front Street.
The WET Deck at W Philadelphia
The W Philadelphia is a dog-friendly hotel, but we weren’t ready for the fact that their welcome extends to their posh poolside experience. Leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy their day in the sun as you sip cocktails and dine on bites from cute little tuna tartare cones to full-on burgers. (Order a side of chicken with your Caesar salad and promptly drop it on the ground, they will manifest.) Level up and rent a cabana for the day, giving your pup a shady place to nap as you lounge the day away. And if all those resort vibes you want to turn this into a staycation, the W Philadelphia will welcome your companion with open arms, including dog beds, treats, toys, bowls … an entire package of freebies just for dogs to enjoy their stay. 1439 Chestnut Street, seventh floor.

Frankie’s Summer Club
Philly’s newest beer garden opened last summer in the courtyard of what used to be UArts’ Furness Hall — thanks, Scout! They’ve got food and drink by Irwin’s (the soft-serve is a must), backyard-party vibes, and they can’t wait to meet your dogs. Really, they told us. They reopen for the season on May 1st. 355 South 15th Street.
Morgan’s Pier
Seasonal, scenic, and spacious, Morgan’s Pier is a summer playground for humans and dogs alike. The river breeze keeps everyone cool, and water bowls abound. Even better, they host monthly Yappy Hour — usually on the first Monday of the month, from 4 to 8 p.m. — with proceeds going to the PSPCA. 221 North Columbus Boulevard.
Sunday Girl
This Old City cafe is so dog-friendly, they’ve got pet beds and toys inside! Plus, a wall of dog photos for good measure. And they’re really rooting for your success — they’ve hosted cafe-ready workshops to teach essential leash manners for dogs that aspire to a lifetime of sidewalk dining by your side. Keep an eye out for photography sessions, too: They’re planning a Mother’s Day one on May 2nd for you and your pup. 263 North 3rd Street.
Philadelphia Brewing Company
Kensington’s year-round beer garden loves dogs. They even have a special pale ale created in memory of their beloved Beuke, with proceeds benefiting the PSPCA. In addition to being an all-around dog-friendly place, they also host their annual Furry Friends of Frankford Pet Festival each spring — they team up with Olde Kensington Boutique for a day of pet-themed games, pet vendors, a pet parade through the neighborhood, live music, and adoptable pets. 2440 Frankford Avenue.
PHS Pop-Up Gardens
Dogs are always welcome at both locations of PHS pop-up gardens, which offer food, craft brews, cocktails, family-friendly activities, plant swaps and craft workshops throughout the spring and summer seasons. Also at both locations? A bright orange frozen Gritty Marg rimmed with black salt. 1438 South Street and 106 Jamestown Avenue.
Attic Brewing Co.
Behind the Germantown taproom, you’ll find an 8,000-square-foot beer garden that welcomes your dogs — and this spring they hosted their first “Strut Your Fluff” dog fashion show, which we hope begins a grand tradition.
