Xfinity: Philly Loves True Detective

VOD stats show Philly is classier than Pittsburgh.

As Comcast gears up for Xfinity’s annual “Watchathon” — hundreds of shows with hundreds of episodes available on-demand, for free, for all cable subscribers from March 31 to April 6 — the company is releasing information about major cities it serves, and the top video-on-demand offerings in each.

Philly’s list shows — dare we say it — that we’re a pretty classy TV watching town. True Detective tops our list, followed by The BlackList, Game of Thrones, and Sleepy Hollow.

Let us give thanks that we’re not from Pittsburgh, because one show jumps out on this list:

That’s right. Duck Dynasty is Pittsburgh second-favorite VOD show. And we don’t even have to love the gays and hate the gay-haters to feel pretty good about leaving that one off our list. All we have to do is watch this trailer…

ugh.

Anyway, here’s the national list, for further reasons to enjoy Philly’s superiority in television taste. Turns out, with one or two exceptions, everyone everywhere who uses video-on-demand has pretty much exactly the same sensibility.
