On Thursday, August 23, 2018, more than 500 hungry Philadelphians descended on the Piazza to taste test a selection of six creative twists on Philly’s favorite tasty jawns in the Philly Classic Cook-Off, presented by Budweiser. The local eateries entered into the foodie-lovers contest were:

MilkBoy with the Roast Pork Remix

Molly Malloy’s with The Scrappy Philadelphian

The Union Tap with The Delphia Burger

Mad Rex with the Dark Chocolate Brownie

Revolution Taco with the Italian Hoagie Empanada

Slice with Truffled Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak Pizza

But the tasty bites and ice-cold Budweiser brews weren’t the only thing guests were offered—they could also vote on which dish they loved the most and enter for a chance to win one of six prizes that included a restaurant gift card and sweet Budweiser swag.

As guests danced the night away to the live band, The Morning After, judges, Thebellyofthepig, PhillyFoodGirl, and Philly Grub were deciding who would take home a prize. In the end, the judges chose Revolution Taco as the winner and the people’s choice was The Union Tap. Both took home a grand prize of a thousand dollars and additional prizes while guests went home with full belly’s and happy memories.
