Video Evidence That Spring Coats Are Having a Major Moment

Take it from celebs like Chrissy Teigen and Emily Goulet.

We’re all for jumping on the Chrissy Teigen—and, begrudgingly, Kim Kardashian—style train, and this season the celebs are proving that spring coats are back in a big way. This morning, we popped over to Fox 29 News HQ for a quick spotlight on the trend, pulling a few of our favorite spring coats from local boutiques.

“Ditch the heavy leather and give your denim jacket a break,” Shoppist editor Emily Goulet tells us. Instead, opt for a cool bomber like this floral-printed, sporty number with crocheted details (just $50 at Geisha House) that I painfully tried to model. If you want more of the celebrity look, try a slouchy trench, like this luxe cool grey one from Third Street Habit ($758). Floral is always a good idea for spring, but try to mix things up with a cool kimono silhouette. The one modeled is from Philly designer Terese Sydonna, and we’re obsessed ($290). Emily is also wearing a clean-cut, double-breasted linen blazer from Shop Sixty Five ($550).

You can dress any spring coat up or down super easily, whether you’re topping off a cocktail dress or pairing with ripped denim and white sneakers. Spring coats are great to have on hand while the weather decides whether it wants the sun to shine or snow to fall. They elevate any look, adding a sophisticated layer without bogging down your style. See for yourselves:
