Uniqlo Is Launching a Designer Collaboration With Former Hermès Creative Director

The latest designer for the Japanese retailer.

Uniqlo

Uniqlo.

Uniqlo, the Japanese fast-fashion retailer that basically took over the tri-state area in the past year, has just announced a designer collaboration with French fashion designer Christophe Lemaire, who recently left his lofty position as creative director for Hermès.

This isn’t Uniqlo’s first foray into designer collabs. The company has partnered with Helmut Lang and Jil Sander, as well as celebs (Pharrell Williams) and fashion notables (Inès de la Fressange). According to reports, Lemaire will design a collection for men and woman that will launch in the fall. If the fall 2015 menswear and womenswear collections for his namesake line (formerly called Christophe Lemaire; he recently dropped ‘Christophe’ from the name) are any indication, we’re in store for clean, modern lines, neutral colors and interesting plays on proportion.

Your move, H&M.
