Pictures: Here’s What It Looks Like When Philly Naked Bike Riders Ride Through Your Wedding-Day Photo Shoot
Just the other week we were reminiscing about a Philly Naked Bike Ride from years past that zipped right through a couple’s wedding photos in Rittenhouse Square—and luckily for us, it happened again during this year’s ride on Saturday!
Photographer Joe Gidjunis of Philly’s JPG Photography was indeed aware that the Philly Naked Bike Ride would be going on the day of his clients Blair and Ross’s wedding—and even brought it up to the couple beforehand, in part so that he would know how they felt about the possibility of being surrounded by hundreds of nude cyclists at some point on their wedding day. By the time the morning of their Big Day rolled around, he said, Blair and Ross (and their wedding party) thought it’d actually be pretty hilarious if they happened to come across them, but after a photo session at the Art Museum and no sight of the bikers, they figured their paths probably wouldn’t cross.
A bit later, however, the couple was minding their business, snapping a few shots in Dilworth Plaza, when they heard the unmistakable commotion of a bajillion naked bike riders coming their way. They headed towards them, and as the bikers cheered and high-fived the nearly married couple (their ceremony was just following this shoot at VIE on Broad Street), and their bridesmaids and groomsmen went crazy seeing this all go down, Ross picked up Blair and spun her around.
“When we arrived at VIE, their parents and family couldn’t believe what they had done,” says Gidjunis, though everyone loved that “this absolutely ridiculous event was a part of their shoot!”
“I’m so grateful Blair and Ross embraced their adventurous spirit,” he says. “Though they were joking about how, exactly, they would explain these pictures to their kids!”
Take a look at the fun below:
Congrats, Ross and Blair! What a memorable day you had.
