This Handy Infographic Shows You How Much Cash You Should Give as a Wedding Gift
If you’ve ever debated over how much money to give as a wedding gift (and let’s face it, every wedding guest has) the below infographic is sure to be a helpful resource—especially over the next few months when it seems like your calendar is overflowing with affairs and you’re constantly whipping out your checkbook.
Tendr, an online service that lets you register for cash gifts, gathered a bunch of data from couples who have used their site and broke down the average cash gift amounts by month, season and state. As you’ll see, the national average comes to $120, though Pennsylvanians seem to be a bit more generous, giving on average $188 per wedding.
Spring weddings, especially those in March, boast the highest average gift amount, while fall affairs tend to be on the lower side overall (which makes sense since at this point people have attended so many weddings that their wallets are beginning to feel depleted).
