Crews Search for Missing Teen Swimmers in Atlantic City
A search has resumed this morning for two teenagers who were pulled underwater by a riptide Thursday evening in Atlantic City.
According to the Press of Atlantic City, 15-year-old Kalia Spence and an unidentified teen boy were reported missing around 6:30 p.m. off the beach at Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Spence’s father, Dirk Spence, said Spence was pulled underwater first, and the teen boy was swept under when he went to look for her.
The rescue effort was deemed a “recovery search” around 9 p.m. last night. Crews stopped the search overnight and resumed this morning.
