The Philadelphia Police Department is looking for two men wanted for a violent armed robbery in Old City.

The incident took place on April 8th at 1:55 a.m. A car believed to be a late model Kia Optima pulled onto Bank Street, the alley between Market and Chestnut and Second and Third streets. Two men walking from the other direction stopped near the car, and then two suspects got out of the vehicle, one of them armed with a handgun.

According to police, the armed man walked up to one of the victims and began beating him with the gun in an attempt to rob him. The other suspect went through that victim’s pockets and allegedly took his wallet, a cell phone and $200.

At one point, the suspect with the gun dropped it while he was beating the one victim, and the other suspect picked up the gun and the two men got back into the car and fled.
