Video: South Street Idiots Break Jim’s Steaks’ Windows

The moment of impact.

Every time we start to believe that South Street might be improving, something like this happens. Just before 3 a.m. on Sunday morning some guys decided it would be fun to pound on and eventually ram into the front windows at cheesesteak institution Jim’s Steaks, breaking two large panes and causing what the owner says was $1,850 in damage.

“Everybody is pointing the finger at South Jersey,” says Jim’s owner Kenneth Silver. “That seems to be the consensus. Of course it can’t be anybody from Philly right?”

Silver shared the video on Jim’s Facebook page and is hoping that someone recognizes the “men.” He says he did hear from the owner of the dog that the doers are seen petting in the surveillance video. (Full video below.)

He hasn’t reported the incident to the cops.

“I’m not going to bother them with this,” he says. “If the guys step up and say, ‘Hey, we’re drunk idiots, and here is your $1,850,’ I’ll let bygones be bygones. But if someone recognizes them first, different story.”
