Visions of beaches, Speedos and cute girls in bikinis may be far, far away—but they don’t have to be. The Welcoming Committee (TWC), hosts of Philly’s popular Guerrilla Queer Bar, just announced that it’s taking a group of LGBTers from all six of its host cities on a trip to take over Puerto Rico! Here are the details from TWC’s site:

We’re headed to Puerto Rico for one long weekend in March/April 2015. We’re bringing LGBTQs from all six TWC cities (and the rest of the country, too). Traveling with TWC works like this: we organize the hotel, plan nightlife takeovers, direct you to the beach, and ply you with swag. It’s everything you want in a vacation, without the hassle of planning it out yourself. Plus, we have flexible payment plans to make sure it doesn’t break the bank.

If you want to bring a friend or 20, great! We’ll put you in rooms together. Just want a vacation and not sure who to bring? We’ll pair you up with roommates and besties. Either way you’ll make tons of new friends.

Sounds like a great excuse to escape our chilly city for a few days in the sun with your gayest and dearest—and to meet lots of new friends from across the country.

In typical TWC fashion, you have to wait a little bit longer for details: like dates and pricing. I do know that tickets will go on sale in January (so save that Christmas money!) To be among the first to find out when tickets go on sale, sign up here. There are a limited number of seats available, obviously.

If you go, be sure to take along G Philly’s gay travel guide to Puerto Rico, so you’ll know all the fab spots to hit up, like bougie cocktail lounge Oceano, the laid-back Splash Lounge, or the hard-pumping Circo Bar, while you’re there. Find that and more here.
