A thoughtful roundup of five of the week’s best gay to-dos.

Shade: A Panel Discussion on Race and Feminism
Pussy Division, a group of Philadelphia feminist activists, and local artist collective Vox Populi (VP) are teaming up for an event that piggybacks off VP's current exhibition, "Alien She." Five speakers, including GALAEI's Elicia Gonzales, Faan Mail's Nuala Cabral, and Preeti Pathak of PAVE, will discuss "the lasting impact of Riot Grrrl on artists and cultural producers working today." Ethel Cee moderates. Wednesday, April 16th, 7 p.m., free, William Way Community Center, 1315 Spruce Street.

PromTrash Broadway
This year, Philly's Dumpsta Players' (DP) annual PromTrash fiasco will serve as the penultimate event in this month's Philadelphia Queer Media Activism Series. Like always, the group is on the lookout for Philly's trashiest prom queen, but this year things get a Broadway musical twist. Here's a synopsis, told only the way DP can tell it: "Cheery Hell High's drama teacher, Mr. Blob Claymation, is working the kids up into a frenzy as this prom is guaranteed to be an extravaganza. From A Chorus Line to Bye, Bye Birdie the kids promise a show you will not soon forget." Did I mention this was DP's 150th show?! Proceeds will benefit Philly's The Rotunda. Wednesday, April 16th, 10 p.m., $1.99, Bob and Barbara's, 1509 South Street.

#VentureVariety: Spring Fling
Billy Cavallo's #VentureVariety show is seeing a pretty great lineup this week: The Short Bus Sisters (aka Navaya Shay, Satine Harlow, and Cherry Pop), and comedic drag legend Brittany Lynn are all scheduled to perform. If that's not enough to get you there, maybe the fact that Cavallo hosts in his undies will do the trick. Wednesday, April 16th, 11 p.m. Venture Inn, 255 South Camac Street.

G Philly on the Radio!
Yours truly will be a guest this week on Butch Cordora's weekly LGBT-centric radio show, Straight and Butch, on G-Town Radio. We'll be talking about all things gay Philly in the first hour, then turn our attention to some current pop culture haps. No Kardashian, Knowles or Efron is safe! Should be a fun night. Tune in here at 6 p.m. Thursday. Thursday, April 17th, 6 p.m.-7 p.m., G-Town Radio.

Sissy Hop: Queer Soul Night, Vol. 2
Wild child Ann Artist (pictured), and Pussy Von Weinermuff will the second go-round of Dolphin Tavern's new queer dance party Sissy Hop. DJs Scopitone and Nolita Selector will play a 45 rpm vinyl set showcasing everything from Motown hits to garage to surf. Thursday, April 17th, 10 p.m. Dolphin Tavern, 1539 South Street.
