Jamie Moyer Signs With the Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed former Phillie and Souderton native Jamie Moyer. Moyer has already had deals with the Rockies and Orioles this year. He became the oldest player in the history of Major League Baseball to earn a win as he went 2-5 with a 5.70 ERA in 10 starts with Colorado before he was designated for assignment. His stint with the Orioles organization ended when they asked him to make an additional start in Triple-A before the team would consider calling him up. The Blue Jays say he’ll start his tenure with the team’s Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas. His deal isn’t guaranteed and there haven’t been any firm commitments from the team in terms of Moyer’s chance of pitching for the Jays. [Blue Jays]
