No Deal for City and SEPTA Transit Police

Plus: A guy is shot during a rap video shoot, the Flyers beat the Caps, PA has green jobs, and more of what Philly is buzzing about today.

No Deal for Transit Police. Five hours of negotiations ended with both parties saying “no deal.” There’s still a 35-cent chasm. Looks like we’ll have to open a few more cases before SEPTA police are back patrolling the rails. [Inquirer]

Guy Shot, Run Over During Rap Video. A man was shot in the head and then run over with a car while filming an amateur rap video in Olney yesterday. The police arrested three men armed with handguns and witnesses identified one as the shooter. [CBS 3]

Flyers Beat Caps. An early goal had the Flyers playing catch-up (be surprised), but Bryz locked it down and Giroux found the back of the net to give the Flyers a 2-1 shootout victory. [The 700 Level]

PA Has Green Jobs. Approximately 182,000, actually. That’s good for top five in the country. [Inquirer]

Guy Jumps From Window at PPD HQ. A 21-year-old man jumped from the second-story window of Philadelphia Police headquarters while being questioned. He fractured an ankle (ya think?) and was taken to Jefferson. We’re going to guess that he’ll have to pull a Kerri Strug and tough it out for the rest of the interrogation. [6 ABC]

Got $723 Million Lying Around? Then maybe you should consider buying the Phillies. The organization was valued at $723 million—a $114 million increase from last year. And they’re still sitting on that expiring television contract for 2015. [Crossing Broad]

Fake Fire Inspector in Cherry Hill. Some guy is scamming people in Cherry Hill by posing as a fire inspector, checking out properties, and issuing cash-only bills. [6 ABC]
