Former Inquirer Editor Talks Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda

Nieman Journalism Lab recently asked a bunch of former editors to think about what they would do differently if they were still steering their old ships. Amanda Bennett was replaced as editor of the Inquirer in 2006. She wrote about how panic may have forced everyone’s focus in the wrong direction, how everyone was frantically searching for the solution, and, generally, how the times, they were a-changin’.

“I should have been braver at recognizing the difference between a reverence for the past and a reluctance to face the future,” she wrote. [Nieman]
