The End of Rick Santorum’s Google Problem

Remember Rick Santorum’s Google problem? For the better part of a decade, the first result for a Google search on the conservative candidate’s last name yielded a rather unsavory website about anal sex. But this week, apparently as a result of changes that Google just made to its search algorithms, the problem appears to have been solved. Though the exact ranking results have been fluctuating over the last several hours, the Wikipedia page for the candidate is at number one. The candidate’s official site currently appears in position three while one of the two offensive sites in question ranks at number four. The other site has been pushed to the second page of results. Fittingly, the Wikipedia page that discusses the dirty practical joke is at, um, number two. The problem persists on Yahoo and Bing. [Wall Street Journal]
