The Check-Up: Hope for an HIV Vaccine
This is pretty exciting. Researchers in Spain are saying an HIV vaccine they’re working on actually seems to be working. The research is still in its super early stages—they’ve only tested it on about two dozen subjects so far—but most of the vaccine recipients developed an immune response to the virus, including antibodies. The measure isn’t bulletproof, but researchers say if the vaccine works it could diminish the impact of HIV to a herpes-level infection. Could you even imagine?
