Naming of "parklet" by 30th Street Station open to the public
A small public space between 30th Street Station and Market Street is expected to be completed by Labor Day weekend. The space will replace a small parking lot that currently sits on the southern side of the station. Now, University City District is looking for you to name the “parklet.” You can see your proposed name on city maps and receive a $500 Amtrak gift card if your suggestion is chosen by the 10-person jury in October. The Scoop thinks that if Cliff Lee keeps pitching like he has been, naming a parklet after him would be the least the city could do. [Facebook.com/UniversityCity]
