Joe Paterno Injured at Practice

Hurt his shoulder and hip Monday

Joe Paterno was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center in Centre County, Pennsylvania today after he was injured in a collision with a player during practice. He underwent tests to determine the severity of his hip and shoulder injuries and it appears as though he won’t need surgery. Paterno released a prepared statement saying that he’ll return to practice soon and that no one should worry about him. Sorry, Joe Pa, but that ship set sail a long time ago—the Scoop thinks it was sometime in the mid ’80s. [ESPN]
