New Jersey State Senate Votes on “Sexting”

Education instead of prosecution?

New Jersey state senators will vote today on a bill that will alter the current punishment for teenagers sending explicit pictures via cell-phones. Currently, underage teens caught “sexting” can be brought up on child pornography charges with serious consequences. The bill before the Senate today would replace the prosecution of the culprits with a mandated education program. The Scoop thinks the “Not Sending Nude Photographs of Yourself Via Hand-held Devices (or at all) for Dummies” books will come in handy for course instructors. [Star-Ledger]
