Mayor Michael Nutter Will Veto DROP Bill

Philadelphia’s Mayor took to the Twittersphere to re-emphasize his opposition to the Delayed Retirement Option Plan (DROP). DROP was included in a bill that passed 14-3, meaning City Council seems to have the necessary 12 votes to override the Mayor’s veto. Mayor Nutter is adamant about the fact that the city can’t afford to extend the program and seems intent on having City Council prove they’re picking up what DROP is putting down. [Twitter]
