Happy Birthday, Liza!

In Liza Minnelli’s 65 years, the singer and actress has enjoyed a rollercoaster of fame – from husbands to rehab and coming out from the shadow of her famous parents Judy Garland and Vincent Minnelli.

In honor of the diva’s birthday, Life photographer Bill Eppridge has shared a slideshow of rare photos from her 19th birthday with first husband Peter Allen, as well as a behind-the-scenes peek into her famous shows, including Flora the Red Menace, a Broadway musical that launched Minnelli’s career and for which she became the youngest woman ever to win a Tony Award for lead actress.

She went on to nab Oscars, an Emmy and Grammys, making her one of the few in entertainment history to win all four major awards.
