Trolley Car Station, the bar and restaurant at SEPTA’s revamped 40th Street trolley portal, has closed after a little over seven months in business.

The all-day, comfort food-focused concept at 3940 Baltimore Avenue struggled with operational challenges, said owner Ken Weinstein. The longtime restaurateur and developer also owns Trolley Car Diner in Mt. Airy and Trolley Car Cafe in East Falls.

Weinstein is currently looking for a tenant to take over 200-seat, 5,000 square-foot bi-level space, which includes a liquor license. The restaurant debuted as part of a $4.5 million renovation of the trolley portal in September of last year.
