Old City is getting a new Maryland-style seafood spot.

The Nauti Mermaid Crab House & Piano Bar, a new concept from the folks behind Jolly’s Dueling Piano Bar, will softly open at 110 Chestnut Street this Friday, July 6th. The ground-floor space, formerly occupied by Prime Stache, is downstairs from Jolly’s, which took over the upstairs back in April.

The crab-centric menu will feature Maryland blue crabs as well as soft- and hard-shelled varieties and snow crabs, with bowls, shared plates, sandwiches, and mains featuring seafood and Southern-inflected fare. Damian Tarlecki will serve as executive chef. Drinks include signature cocktails plus six wines on draft.

The restaurant will celebrate with a grand opening happy hour on Tuesday, July 10th, featuring a complimentary raw bar with freshly shucked oysters plus $1 drafts and cocktails from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., plus steamed crabs for just $5 from 5 p.m. until close. They’ll begin with dinner service, with plans to add brunch and lunch and extend kitchen hours until 1 a.m. on weekends in the near future.

To start, the Nauti Mermaid will be open from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and on Sunday, and 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with buck-a-shuck oysters during happy hour from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The bar will be open till late each night.
