Cheese Flash Mob Takes Over Martha This Thursday

Bring a wedge to share with Madame Fromage and your fellow cheese lovers.

Madame Fromage, a.k.a. Tenaya Darlington, is Philadelphia’s resident cheese blogger. (Yes, Philadelphia has a resident cheese blogger.) Every few years, she gets the cheese community together for her Cheese Ball, a lavish celebration at the Ruba Club featuring a giant cheese board populated with wedges brought by attendees.

This Thursday, she’s taking the concept on tour with a Cheese Flash Mob at Martha.

On June 29th from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., Madame Fromage and local cheesemonger Matt Buddah will take over Kensington’s favorite fermentation station for a cheese-centric party: Bring a wedge of your favorite cheese to share with other cheese lovers, including members of the city’s cheese community like painter of cheese Mike Geno, cheesemakers Sue Miller of Birchrun Hills Farm and Stefanie Angstadt of Valley Milkhouse, and, of course, Madame herself.

Martha will provide bread and accompaniments for the cheese; guests can purchase beer, wine, and cocktails from the bar.

No RSVP or tickets needed — just show up with your wedge to join in.
