Troy Everwine and Mike “Scoats” Scotese, owner of Grey Lodge Pub and Hop Angel Brauhaus are going into business together, taking over the Prince Cafe in the Tacony section of Philadelphia. In honor of Tacony’s historic employer, Disston Saw Works, the revamped bar will be known as the SawTown Tavern.

Once settlement and the liquor license transfer happens, a series of renovations will occur while the bar remains open for business. Among the changes, large windows on the first floor, fresh paint and what Everwine promises will be an “epic sign.”  The kitchen will also be upgraded and a wood-fired oven will be added. The second floor will become a dining room as well as a game room with pool, darts and video games.

Look for “craft pizzas” and craft beer to be on the menu.
