Two Restaurant Openings for Jose Garces

Chef Jose Garces is a busy man with two new restaurant openings.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 8, the newest iteration of his Distrito brand opens at the Moorestown Mall. Chef Garces brings the flavor of Mexico City to New Jersey with a full bar of 100+ tequilas and shareable plates, good for families and large parties. And drunks. Lots and lots of drunks. You’re welcome, New Jersey.

And as if that’s not enough, Garces’ Rural Society, an Argentine steakhouse, is now open in the Loews Madison Hotel in Washington D.C.. Why D.C.? Because the city doesn’t already have enough steakhouses? Because Garces has already taken up all the restaurant spaces in Philly? Or maybe he just really likes riding the Acela. Whatever the reason, the restaurant is designed around a wood-fired grill, and the menu makes good use of it. “We’re going to cook as much as we can over that flame,” according to Garces.
