Rival Bros. Lands a Storefront

Jonathan Adams and Damien Pileggi have landed a storefront for their Rival Bros. Coffee Roasters. The pair has been serving their coffee from a truck parked at 33rd and Arch as well as special events around town. Now they will have a home without wheels at 2400 Lombard Street. Although the neighborhood is familiar to Adams who has worked nearby as a chef at Pub & Kitchen and Snackbar, the location came to them organically. In fact, their real estate broker was Bruno Pouget who had opened the original Caribou Cafe across the street back in the 1980s. Adams told me that a storefront has always been a part of the plan and Pileggi and he are excited to take their business to the next level.

For food, as much as Adams might like to be baking in the new space, it doesn’t sound like that will work out. Adams does say that there will be more to eat than just chocolate croissants and that he’s interested in bringing in “some great stuff, interesting food.”

Adams won’t commit to a timeframe more specific than winter of 2014, noting there’s a lot to get done.
