Yesterday the Foobooz Burger Cruise for the First Person Festival set sail and it sure was fun. Thanks to First Person Arts for approaching me for the tour and to everyone who came out. It was an awesome time.

A synopsis follows with notes about the burgers and beer.

Good Dog

Miniature versions of the Good Dog burger with the cheese on top instead of stuffed were passed along. The taste was a faithful rendition of the Good Dog burger.

Beers:
Philadelphia Brewing Co. Philly Pale Ale
Troegs Dead Reckoning Porter

Barclay Prime

Barclay Prime won for presentation, serving all 40 tour participants with a single child of the usually Siamese twin burgers on a white plate with colorful condiments arranged neatly next to a side of tater tots.

Beers:
Stoudt’s Scarlet Lady

Noble: American Cookery

The beet topped burger at Noble had everyone intrigued even before it was served. Evidently the beet on a burger is a Kiwi and Australian thing. Even in a smaller size Noble was able to show off the patty seasoned with shallots and garlic.

Beers:
Philadelphia Brewing Co. Harvest in the Hood
Troegs Hopback Amber

Pub & Kitchen

The “half” Windsor burgers were topped with onion, bacon and Denhay English Cheddar. The sherry vinegar pickled onion really popped on the smaller roll.
