Here are some plays from the Eagles’ offense that stood out after watching the All-22 tape.
If you missed the defensive breakdown, click here.
We’ve written a lot about DeMeco Ryans in this space since the season started.
And for good reason. The defense has exceeded expectations through two games, and Ryans is playing at a level we haven’t seen from an Eagles linebacker in years. There’s still 14 games to go, but that’s no exaggeration.
There’s also his leadership. I could write a few hundred words and try to explain that part, but the video below tells the story. It’s from Sound FX on NFL Network and features Ryans, who was mic’d up on Sunday. Take a look.
It seems that every time Kim Kardashian opens her mouth about marriage—her marriage, other people’s marriages, marriage in general—it generates headlines. (Last week, for instance, […]
Cullen Jenkins said he’s been fined $7,875 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness against the Ravens.
The flag came in the first quarter came after Vonta Leach‘s five-yard touchdown run, as he mixed it up in the end zone with a Ravens defender. It was just one example of the chippiness between the Eagles and Ravens Sunday.
The prime example was the dust-up between DeSean Jackson and Cary Williams, where the two came to blows. Jackson hinted that he was slapped in the wallet as well. “Probably did, but that’s my personal business,” he said.
I had a chance to take a look at the All-22 footage again this week. Today’s post will focus on the Eagles’ defense, and Thursday’s will take a look at the offense.
Here are the plays that stood out.

This Sunday’s game in Arizona is richer than anticipated when it comes to storylines. Kolb not only took over as the Cardinals starter but is playing fairly well and for a winning team. There are only four 2-0 teams in the conference, and the Eagles and Cardinals are two of them.
The former second-round pick out of Houston gets to face his old team in a meaningful game, going up against the man who took his job.
“I’ve tried to prepare myself a little bit to make sure I’m not too excited, too hyped,” said Kolb, “because obviously as a QB you have to be settled in. But I don’t know, I”ve never played a team that I’ve played for before. Obviously I have a lot of respect for those guys, coaching staff and players, and think very highly of them.”
I just wrapped up reporting a piece on workplace wellness—look for it in Philly Mag’s October issue—so it’s perfect timing to get a little introspective […]
The Demetress Bell project may have been slower coming than many anticipated, but it’s in overdrive now.
Andy Reid said that it “will be a stretch” for King Dunlap to be ready for the Cardinals. Dunlap suffered a hamstring strain against the Ravens and will not practice Wednesday. Reid indicated he could be sidelined through Friday, opening the door for Bell to likely get his first start in an Eagles uniform.
