Michael Vick has won the quarterback competition. Chip Kelly named Vick the starter at a press conference prior to Tuesday’s practice at the NovaCare.

“We’ve evaluated the situation, and Michael Vick is going to start for us against the Washington Redskins,” said Kelly. “I met with all the quarterbacks this morning. They understand the plan and know where we are going forward.”

Kelly clarified that Vick is “our starter for the season. It’s not a one-game trial basis.”
