Comcast executive David L. Cohen, Philly Mag’s special guest, will sit down with us for an intimate discussion about the need to turn up the dial on diversity and inclusion initiatives across the region.

BizPhilly’s Secrets From the C-Suite kicks off in April.

BizPhilly is kicking off the first installment of Secrets From the C-Suite, a new event series designed to foster intimate and vigorous discussion with the region’s leading executives.

On Wednesday April 17, 2019, Comcast senior executive vice president and chief diversity officer David L. Cohen will join me on stage at the Fitler Club ballroom for an early fireside chat. We’ll delve into a topic that should be part of every organization’s agenda — creating a work culture that prioritizes diversity and inclusion. Our talk will be followed by an interactive session hosted by Kevin Ruth, UnitedHealthcare senior vice president of business and quality advancement. Tickets are going quickly (!). You can secure yours here now.

A Closer Look at Comcast’s Diversity Report

In December, Fortune named Comcast the country’s second best company for diversity. The Fortune list recognized 100 companies “doing the most to create inclusive cultures for women, people of color, LGBTQ people, employees who are Boomers or older, and people who have disabilities.”

Let’s learn what we can from Comcast. Our talk will focus on the initiatives the company has implemented to bolster diversity, pulling back the curtain on the telecom giant’s unique benefits and efforts around Internet Essentials and supplier diversity. We’ll comb through Comcast’s latest Diversity & Inclusion report to better understand its findings and the challenges that still remain for the company. Importantly, Cohen will talk about what’s ahead for Comcast, giving us insight into the solutions they’re currently experimenting with. Audience members will walk away with tangible advice that they can implement in their own workplaces.

Secrets From the C-Suite has been approved for 2.50 business recertification credit hours toward aPHR™, PHR®, PHRca®, SPHR®, GPHR®, PHRi™ and SPHRi™ recertification through HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®) for those who stay for the duration of the event. Kevin Ruth of United Healthcare, the event’s presenting sponsor, will conduct an interactive case study review of the connection between workplace culture and business outcomes.

We’ll kick off the morning with breakfast and networking at 7:15 a.m. and go into the discussion and interactive session from 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Lunch (and more networking) will be served from 11 a.m. to noon.
