Mathis Named To Pro Bowl

Evan Mathis is Pro-Bowl bound once again.

Originally named an alternate, the 33-year-old will replace Saints guard Jahri Evans, who is unable to play because of injury.

Mathis made his first Pro Bowl last season and was also first-team All-Pro in 2013. He suffered an MCL sprain in the opener against Jacksonville this year and sat out the next seven games while on injured reserve/designated to return. He performed well overall once back in the lineup. Pro Football Focus rated him as the second best guard in the league in 2014.

The Eagles now have six players in the Pro Bowl: Mathis, Jason Peters, LeSean McCoy, Connor Barwin, Jason Kelce and Darren Sproles.

Cody Parkey, Chris Maragos, Jeremy Maclin and Fletcher Cox are alternates.

The game will be played on January 25 in Glendale, Arizona. Conveniently enough, Mathis lives in that area in the offseason.
