Remember going on scavenger hunts as kids? Well, you can relive the glory days this September — only instead of hunting for prizes or landmarks, you’ll be hunting for workouts. That’s right: Unite Fitness is bringing back their annual Unite Philly Run, a free cross-training scavenger hunt that combines a fun run with pop-up workouts for one evening in September.

The Unite Philly Run will take place on Thursday, September 20 at 6 p.m. Just like in years past, the run will start and finish at the Unite Fitness Rittenhouse location at 20th and Ranstead Streets. The free fun run will then guide an estimated 400 runners along a three-and-a-half-mile course past some of Philly’s most iconic landmarks (think: Logan Square and the Art Museum). Along the route, the runners will “hunt” for four surprise strength stations where they’ll pause to do some conditioning before continuing the jog. Oh, and just to make it even more fun, everyone is invited to bring their dogs along for the ride.

To cap off this high-energy evening, a post-run block party is planned for the finish line at Unite Fitness Rittenhouse. Expect swag bags from the event sponsors Rothman Institute and Vybe Urgent Care as well as madddd snacks and sips from the likes of Sip-N-Glo, Honeygrow, Pure Fare, and more.

While it’s totally free to run, you can make a donation to benefit environmental organizations and score some freebies. For example, a $25 donation scores your a t-shirt and will help the Carbon Fund plant 25 trees in an effort to re-forest the United States or Central America. Or you can give $50 to the Third Millennium Alliance, which benefits the rainforest in Ecuador and scores you a t-shirt and free workout at Unite.

Who’s ready to join? Sign up to run —  and, you know, save the planet — right here.
