You Can Join a Citywide Beer Run to Yards Brewery

It's that special time of year, folks — time for the All City Summer Beer Run.

Is there anything better than the running community here in Philly? We think not. There’s a lot of love and a lot of fun events that serve as the glue in this community, and one of the main events, the All City Summer Beer Run, is going down this week.

On Thursday, August 16, more than 18 running clubs from all over the city will venture out for a huge group run starting at 12 locations citywide. The groups will convene at Yards Brewing Company — located at 5th and Spring Garden Streets — for one heck of a beer-filled party celebrating our city’s vibrant running community. However, if you’re more of the solo-runner-type and have yet to join a local group, feel free to join the Fishtown Beer Runners who will be heading to Yards from the courtyard at City Hall at 7 p.m. sharp. Other departure locations include Philadelphia Runner‘s Rittenhouse location (1601 Sansom Street).

By making your way to the All City Summer Beer Run and drinking some beers, you and your fellow runners can make a difference in the lives of local disabled athletes. One dollar from every Yards beer sold will be donated to Philly Achilles, the organization dedicated to helping these athletes achieve their goals. Additionally, every attendee will receive a free raffle ticket, but you’ll also have the option to purchase more tickets and benefit Achilles further. So, you can accomplish your workout, refuel, good dead of the day all at once, thanks to Yards.
