Ah, summertime. The perfect time of year for eating lunch outside, taking strolls in the afternoon, and, well, playing hooky. On Tuesday, June 12, we’ve got a pretty good reason for you to skip out on work in the middle of the day: A huge (free!) fitness festival is taking over Commerce Square.

Once again, Fit Fest — brought to you by Healthease and Brandywine Realty Trust — is headed to downtown Philly for a day of free workouts, exploring local wellness vendors, and prize raffles benefitting Back on My Feet (BOMF), the non-profit that combats homelessness through running.

One of the main attractions of the day will be an ongoing Treadmill-A-Thon from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in support of BOMF. You can either start a treadmill team, join a team, or just donate to BOMF here.

In addition to getting in a run on the treadmills, there will be several workouts for you to sweat it out throughout the day. Spring Garden Street’s BPM Fitness will host a class at noon. The class is limited to 24 participants, however, so you’ll need to sign up here for the free class.

At 1:30 p.m., pilates instructor Keri Bernstein will lead a 45-minute outdoor class, and at 5:30 p.m. Barre3 Rittenhouse will bring their signature workout to the fountain at Commerce Square.

Can’t make it to any of the classes? You can still stroll through the marketplace, which will be filled with a mix of local and national vendors. This year’s Fit Fest will include representatives from locally designed sportswear Endeavor Athletic, healthy meal service Snap Kitchen, stand-up paddle board and retreat company Aqua Vida, Philadelphia Rock Gym, and more. And before the day is over, you can also get your name in for the raffle for prizes like a Pagano’s Market & Bar gift card and Phillies tickets.

Fit Fest 2018 is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 12 at Commerce Square, 2005 Market Street. Make sure to bring your mat and water, and RSVP to attend here.
