Calling all Philadelphia-area runners: Global Running Day is tomorrow, Wednesday, June 6, and there are three major ways to celebrate this year. From fundraisers to fun runs, this day is all about bringing together the Philly running community. And before you even ask: Yes, there will be free Rita’s again.

Happy running, friends!

Cigna BoMF Treadmill Challenge
When: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: The Shops at Liberty Place; 1625 Chestnut Street, Liberty Place

This indoor run for a good cause features 11 City Fitness treadmills set up in The Shops at Liberty Place. Throughout the day, over 150 runners will take turns racking up miles to raise money for Back on My Feet Philadelphia. There are still 30-minute time slots available if you want to show up to help raise the goal amount of $50,000 to fight homelessness in Philadelphia. To secure a spot, you can simply make a donation on site when you arrive. Lululemon will also be there providing gear check, yoga, and swag for all participants.

Rock ‘N Roll Run for Rita’s
When: 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Philadelphia Runner; 1601 Sansom Street, Rittenhouse

Local runners will gather at Philadelphia Runner’s Center City location and venture out for a three-and-a-half-mile, music-filled (hence the rock ‘n roll aspect) jaunt that will end with free Rita’s Italian Ice. This run is also hosted by the folks behind the Rock N’ Roll Half Marathon, so you’ll be able to check out their 2018 race shirt, medal, and swag. No need to sign up, just show up.

#NightShiftPHL
When: 8 p.m.
Where: The Goat in Rittenhouse Square

These secret, pop-up night runs are making a come back on the most fitting day possible. Though they typically keep these pop-up runs under wraps until 24 hours ahead of time, the NightshiftPHL team wanted to give Be Well Philly readers a special sneak peek (woohoo!). For this run, you’ll join Jon Lyons of Run215 and Suzanne Allaire founder of  November Project Philadelphia for a three-to-five mile run around the city, ending at Endeavor Athletic‘s pop-up for an after party with a raffle benefiting Back on My Feet Philadelphia, along with Stateside Vodka cocktails and beer from Yards Brewing Company. All you have to do is show up ready to run, and you’re in.
