Teranga Yoga — the studio behind the Yoga Brunch series — is hosting a series of small-group classes.

Though Teranga Yoga has only been up and running since March, they’ve already participated in some pretty stellar events as a part of the Namaste Nourish Yoga Brunch event series, and they are currently prepping for a Hamptons yoga retreat this August.

Teranga Yoga, which is led by yogi Joanna Da Sylva, doesn’t currently have a brick-and-mortar studio, but they’re looking to grow their community through small-group classes held at Da Sylva’s home in Queen Village. The classes, which focus on incorporating world music into the yoga, range from “Afrobeat Empower” to “Hip Hop Yoga” to reggae-filled “One Love Flow” sessions.

Next week, Da Sylva is hosting “Discover Teranga Yoga: A Week of Classes” to encourage more people to give Teranga Yoga’s music-infused classes a try. From June 11 through 15, Teranga Yoga is hosting one 60-minute morning (9:30 a.m.) and one 60-minute evening (6 p.m.) class each day. The classes are only open to eight people at a time, so you know you’ll get some personal attention and instruction throughout the flow. Each session is $10— or, if you show up with a friend, both you and the friend can attend for free.

The small-group classes are planned for 243 Fitzwater Street in Queen Village. You can RSVP for each session here.
