With HipCityVeg AND tons of outdoor yoga nearby, this is going to be the best summer ever.

Step aside, funnel cakes: We’ve got better boardwalk food this summer. Starting May 11, HipCityVeg — Philly’s top spot for vegan fast casual food — is opening a stand at the Boardwalk at Spruce Street Harbor Park on the Delaware River Waterfront.

“We’re thrilled to introduce our concept to this new audience,” said HipCityVeg founder and CEO Nicole Marquis, in a press release. “By opening a booth at Spruce Street Harbor Park, we’re hoping to serve boardwalk goers who have been craving a vegan option and to reach people who aren’t on board with vegan diets yet.”

At the new stand, HipCityVeg will serve off their menu of all plant-based foods — menu items that mimic a fast food restaurant with a healthy, vegan twist. They won’t have the full run of HipCityVeg offerings, but you will be able to find classic menu items including the Philly Steak, the Crispy HipCity Ranch, the Lil’ Golden Nuggets, the Smokey BBQ Chick’n, the Buffalo Bleu, the Jerk Caesar Salad, and — of course — their sweet potato fries. And, since we’re getting into summer now, you’ll also find some of their milkshakes and other cold treats, like the BFG Smoothie and their Banana Whips.

With this new addition and the fact that it’s officially outdoor workout season, the Delaware River Waterfront is turning into quite the destination for wellness lovers. Our perfect Saturday? A free outdoor yoga class at the Race Street Pier, followed by a stroll down to HipCityVeg for organic soy milkshakes. Alternatively, we’ll hit up Moshulu for $10 Yoga on the Deck, then chow down on some HipCityVeg sweet potato fries. Now, doesn’t that sound dreamy?
