We’re just here with a friendly reminder that the oh-so-festive annual South Philly Holiday Lights Run is coming up this Thursday, December 15th. Let the countdown begin!

The event, hosted by the South Philly Striders and Fishtown Beer Runners, is a for-fun group run through the festively lit-up, blinking-Santa-filled streets of South Philly. This year, runners have two routes to choose from: a 3.5-mile option and a 5-mile option, each of them starting and ending at Toll Man Joe’s on Oregon Avenue at 7 p.m. The longer route squeezes in a bigger dose of holiday lights, including the beauty that is 13th Street around the holidays, but both routes will get you your festive fix. You can check out the routes here.

Back at Toll Man Joe’s, there will be food and drink specials for runners. The run is free to join in on, but runners are encouraged to bring canned items that will be donated to Philabundance. And you’ll need some money and your ID to get in on the post-run food and drink specials, so make sure to stuff both of those items into the pocket of your reindeer-adorned running tights. (Naturally, bells, lights and holiday costumes are very welcome.) You can find more info and RSVP here.
