Yes! SoulCycle to Open Center City Location This Fall — Here’s Where

We knew that SoulCycle, the cult-followed cycling studio with outposts all over the country, was coming to the Philly area by way of Ardmore (they’re slated to open their first Philly-area location at Suburban Square in late May), and we had an idea they might be making their way to Center City, too. When we talked with Gabby Etrog Cohen, SoulCycle’s VP of public relations and brand strategy, back in January, she said, “don’t be surprised if there’s a second location to come.” And, well, Center City, what with all the pent-up office workers looking for a post-work sweat session, just makes sense. And it seems SoulCycle agrees: We just got news from Cohen that the second Philly-area SoulCycle location is slated to open at 113 South 16th Street in Center City, currently home to furniture store Usona. Go ahead, let out a little squeal.

The Center City location will be housed in the two-story space, right down the street from Philadelphia Runner’s Center City store, with the studio on the first floor and showers and locker rooms on the second. Cohen tells us they’re aiming for a late-fall opening, meaning we’ll have two SoulCycle locations to get our sweat on at before the year ends.

Interestingly, the second SoulCycle location is just two blocks away from Flywheel’s Center City location, another cycling studio with outposts all over the country, two of them in Philly: one in Center City and one in Bryn Mawr. After Lululemon set up shop right next door to Athleta on Walnut Street in January, it seems keeping competitors close just might be a trend of sorts in the fitness world.
