Does citywide papal fever have you thirsting for a drink? Look no further: The Pope Run to the P.O.P.E. is here! And, when we say P.O.P.E.,  we don’t mean Francis — we’re talking about the Pub on Passyunk East.

The run, hosted by Fishtown Beer Runners, Philadelphia Runner and Philadelphia Brewing Company, is going down Thurday, September 24th. It’ll kick off at 7 p.m. from three locations throughout the city:

Fishtown at 2346 East Susquehanna Avenue
Bella Vista at 7th and Bainbridge Streets
Center City at 16th and Sansom Streets (at Philadelphia Runner)

Each route will end at the P.O.P.E. at 1501 East Passyunk Avenue. And if you’re looking for the best workout, we suggest starting from the Fishtown location, which gives you a 4.75-mile run. Once you arrive at the P.O.P.E., you’ll quench your thirst with Holy Wooder (get it?), Philadelphia Brewing Company’s official beer for the Pope. The run is free but the beer isn’t, so don’t forget to bring some cash and your ID.

Very important note: Costumes are strongly encouraged. The best Pope look-alike will receive a special prize from Philadelphia Runner. For more information, check out the run’s Facebook page here.

And pssst: If running isn’t really your thing and you’re looking for a fun way to bring in the Pope-a-palooza, there’s also the PopeRide going down Saturday.
