Greatest News of All Time: Bombay Yoga Company to Start Hosting Early-Morning Yoga-and-Dance Parties (with Breakfast!)

The other day, my friend and I were discussing our plans for the day when we ran into a dilemma that comes up pretty much every weekend: We wanted to dance but we didn’t want to wait until 11:30 p.m. when we wouldn’t be the only ones on the dance floor — because as much as I love to dance, I would rather be in bed by 11:30 p.m. Some might call me boring. I call myself well-rested.

But it looks like we won’t have to wait until past our bedtimes to get our dance on anymore, because the folks over at Bombay Yoga Company have made our dreams of going to a dance party before the sun sets come true! As owner Kathryn Blessington tells us, the Bella Vista studio is gearing up to start hosting a recurring early-morning yoga-and-dance party called TheGetUp, complete with an hourlong yoga class, a two-hour long dance party, breakfast and performers. Best. News. Ever. Am I right?

As Blessington explains, “I want to party and get a chance to socialize and not feel awful the next day.” The answer? Sober, pre-work dance parties, duh. The parties will kick off with an hour of yoga at 6 a.m., followed by two hours of dance-partying from 7 to 9, and folks will be welcome to flow in and out as they please. They’ll also have breakfast and coffee, though they’re not sure what the breakfast will be yet.

Blessington says the studio is planning on hosting TheGetUp every other month, with the first one slated to happen in August. But you can get a feel for the yoga-and-dance party at Yoga on the Banks on July 11th when instructors from Bombay Yoga Company will be leading a 90-minute yoga class with a live DJ who will be blasting music before, during and after the class. And Athleta and Sip-N-Glo will be there doling out giveaways and juice samples, too.

Better start practicing your moves, people!
