Philly New Balance Store Is Giving Away Free T-Shirts from a Vending Machine

The soon-to-open Walnut Street store has a gift for you.

If you’ve wandered past the under-construction New Balance Philadelphia store at 1615 Walnut Street, you may have noticed the bright-red booth out front promising a free t-shirt. Well, it’s no scam: The store, set to open April 1st, really is giving away free shirts, dispensed from that bright-red vending machine, but I’m told you have to get there early to score one.

Yesterday, I wandered over to the shop to see if I could snatch one up for myself, but at 6 p.m. the booth’s touchscreen informed me that they were all out and to check back tomorrow. So I posted a photo of the booth on Instagram and asked if any Be Wellers had been lucky enough to score one. Soon, New Balance Philly responded to my post, saying they refill the vending machine every morning “and tees are going fast so try to get there early.”

From what I’m seeing on Instagram (evidence below), the shirts are pretty fun: red with a drawing of the Liberty Bell and bearing the hashtag #LoveNBPhilly. The vending machine also promises to email you a gift card to use at the store, valued between $10 and $500.

So in other words, everyone go rush over there, like, right now. (But save me one!)
