Here’s an insanely cool event you probably haven’t tried before: the Schuylkill River Sojourn. Over the course of seven days, participants take a 112-mile guided canoe/kayak trip down the Schuylkill River, stopping at campsites along the way. The trip kicks off in rural Schuylkill Haven, not far from Pottsville, on June 7th and ends, 112 miles later, at Boathouse Row on June 13th. Pretty neat, huh?

Registration for the event includes everything from three meals a day to campsite costs to gear transportation, and a shuttle service back to your car at the end of the trip. Oh! And a free T-shirt, of course.

And if 112 miles sounds a bit too long to you, here’s the really neat part: Participants can opt to take the entire seven-day sojourn or they can choose to join in on just a single day of canoeing or kayaking on the Schuylkill. In a single day, participants can expect to paddle between 14 and 18 miles. Talk about a good shoulder workout, huh?

Space is limited to 100 canoes and kayaks each day, so be sure to register soon, if you’re interested. Get more info and register here.
