To Do: Olympic Ride Spin Class at Body Cycle Studio

A spin class to celebrate the Olympic Games

To kick off the London 2012 Olympics (for Olympics junkies: Opening Ceremony starts on July 27 at 4 p.m. EST, games to follow), Body Cycle Studio is holding its first annual Olympic Ride spinning class on Sunday, July 22. The cycling session will be a full hour of America-pride-inspired music (think traditional spin music with a classic rock twist) and high-energy spinning. Riders are encouraged to dress for the occasion, boasting your favorite patriotic gear. Prizes will be given to the best dressed. Following the work out, cyclers will have the chance to mingle and take fun photos while enjoying light snacks and drinks, provided by Jar Bar.

Body Cycle charges $20 per class for their instructor-led workouts like Olympic Ride, but if this is your first time participating in a Body Cycle class, it’s free! So for you curious non-spinners out there, there’s no excuse to duck out on this calorie-burner.

Online registration is recommended, but walk-ins are accepted if bikes are available. For more information, including full schedule and pricing information, see the studio website.

$20 (first-timers ride free), Sunday, July 22 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Body Cycle Studio, 1923 Chestnut Street, second floor, Philadelphia.
